Removal of naproxen and diclofenac using magnetic nanoparticles/nanocomposites

Magnetic iron oxide and iron/copper nanoparticles were synthesized using Lathyrus brachypterus extract, then magnetic Fe3O4–CS, Fe3O4–AT, Fe/Cu–CS Fe/Cu–AT nanocomposite beads chitosan alginate natural polymers. They used for both adsorption heterogeneous catalysts the catalytic wet peroxidation (CWPO) of naproxen (NPX), diclofenac (DCF) NPX + DCF drugs which are important micro-organic pollutants, separately together (NPX DCF) from aqueous media. In studies, adsorbed very quickly in first minutes then, desorbed between 8 10 min. competitive adsorption, adsorbents showed selective properties NPX. CWPO technique, drug removal was achieved 9 min with a conversion capacity 92% 84% optimum experimental conditions, such as pH 5, 30% H2O2, 100 mg catalyst 298 K. Based on reusability catalysts, it seen that there slight decrease efficiencies third cycle stable active structure preserved to desired extent. Furthermore, oxidation reaction good agreement pseudo-first-order kinetic model.
